How to Install Portracker on Your Synology NAS

How to Install Portracker on Your Synology NAS

Portracker is a self-hosted, open-source tool for real-time port monitoring and network service discovery. It automatically scans systems to detect services and ports, preventing deployment failures due to conflicts. With a lightweight, single-process design and embedded SQLite database, it supports Docker, offers peer-to-peer monitoring, hierarchical server grouping, and a modern, responsive UI. Deployable via Docker and licensed under MIT, it’s ideal for streamlined network visibility and port management. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install Portracker on your Synology NAS using Docker & Portainer.

šŸ’”Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest Portracker v.1.0.2 release.

🟢Please Support My work by Making a Donation. Almost 99,9% of the people that install something using my guidesĀ forget to support my work, or justĀ ignoreĀ STEP 1. I’ve been very honest about this aspect of my work since the beginning: I don’t run any ADS, I don’t require subscriptions, paid or otherwise, I don’t collect IPs, emails, and I don’t have any referral links from Amazon or other merchants. I also don’t have any POP-UPs or COOKIES. I have repeatedly been told over the years how much I have contributed to the community. It’s something I love doing and have been honest about my passion since the beginning. But I also Need The Community to Support me Back to be able to continue doing this work.

  • STEP 9

The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser and type inĀ http://Synology-ip-address:4999Ā If everything goes right, you will see the Portracker main page. āš ļøWarning: Wait some minutes until you are able too see this page. When you launch the application for the first time, you will see a blurred interface because the port scan is ongoing.
