PawTunes is a powerful and versatile web-based internet radio player designed for both radio stations and music enthusiasts. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install PawTunesĀ on your Synology NAS using Docker and Portainer.
STEP 1

InstallĀ Portainer using my step by step guide. If you already have Portainer installed on your Synology NAS, skip this STEP. Attention: Make sure you have installed the latest Portainer version.
STEP 3
Make sure you have a synology.me Wildcard Certificate. Follow my guide to get a Wildcard Certificate. If you already have a synology.me Wildcard certificate, skip this STEP.
STEP 4
Go toĀ Control PanelĀ /Ā Login PortalĀ /Ā AdvancedĀ Tab / clickĀ Reverse Proxy. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 5
Now click the āCreateā button. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 6
After you click the Create button, the window below will open. Follow the instructions in the image below.
On the General area, set the Reverse Proxy Name description: type in PawTunes. After that, add the following instructions:

STEP 7
On the Reverse Proxy Rules click the Custom HeaderĀ tab. ClickĀ CreateĀ and then, from the drop-down menu, clickĀ WebSocket. After you click on WebSocket, two Header Names and two Values will be automatically added. ClickĀ Save. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 8
Go to Control Panel / Network / Connectivity tab/ Check Enable HTTP/2 then click Apply. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 9
Go to Control Panel / Security / Advanced tab/ Check Enable HTTP CompressionĀ then click Apply. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 10
Log into Portainer using your username and password. On the left sidebar in Portainer, click on StacksĀ thenĀ + Add stack. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 11
In the Name field type in pawtunes. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 12
Scroll down on the page until you see a button namedĀ Deploy the stack. Click on it. Follow the instructions in the image below. The installation process can take up to a few minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection.
STEP 13
If everything goes right, you will see the following message at the top right of your screen: āSuccess Stack successfully deployedā.

STEP 15
Now open your browser and type in your HTTPS/SSL certificate like this https://pawtunes.yourname.synology.me/panel/ In my case it’s https://pawtunes.mariushosting.synology.me/panel/ If everything goes right, you will see the PawTunes Login page. Type in the default Username and Password, then click Sign in. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 16
Change the default theme to Dark, then click the Settings tab. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 17
Scroll down the page until the end, then change the default Username and Password with your own Username and Password. Click Save to save the settings. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Click the Channels tab, then +Add Channel. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 19
Personalize your Channel with name, logo and color scheme. In the Streams Audio area, type in the URL link of your favorite online Radio with the specific extension. Click Save to save the settings. Follow the instructions in the image below. Note: My favorite Radio stations are Italian Radios and I have found the URL links of all Italian Radios at this GitHub address.
STEP 20
Click the Player tab, then scroll down the page. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 21
Click Play to start your Radio. Copy the autogenerated iFrame code and paste it on your website. Note: In the code you need to change the following link “http://localhost/index.php” with your own synology.me DDNS followed by /index.phpĀ
