How to Install Eigenfocus on Your Synology NAS

Eigenfocus is a free Self-Hosted All-in-One Management App: Kanban Boards, Time Tracking & Focus Tools. With Eigenfocus, you can manage your personal and work projects in one place. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install EigenfocusĀ on yourĀ Synology NAS using Docker & Portainer.

InstallĀ Portainer using my step by step guide. If you already have Portainer installed on your Synology NAS, skip this STEP. Attention: Make sure you have installed the latest Portainer version.

  • STEP 3

Go toĀ File Station and open the docker folder. Inside the docker folder, create one new folder and name it eigenfocus. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Note: Be careful to enter only lowercase, not uppercase letters.

  • STEP 4

Log into Portainer using your username and password. On the left sidebar in Portainer, click on StacksĀ thenĀ + Add stack. Follow the instructions in the image below.

In the Name field type in eigenfocus. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Note: Copy Paste the code below in the Portainer Stacks Web editor.

Note: Before you paste the code above in the Web editor area below, change the value for DEFAULT_HOST_URL. Type in your LOCAL NAS IP. 192.168.1.18 is my own local NAS IP. You should use your own local NAS IP.

  • STEP 6

Scroll down on the page until you see a button namedĀ Deploy the stack. Click on it. Follow the instructions in the image below. The installation process can take up to a few minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection.

If everything goes right, you will see the following message at the top right of your screen: ā€œSuccess Stack successfully deployedā€œ.

The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser and type in http://Synology-ip-address:3242 Select your Timezone and Language, then click Update.Ā Follow the instructions in the image below.

On the left sidebar, click Project then click create project. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Type in the name of the project. Click Create. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Click Go to time tracking. Follow the instructions in the image below.
