Transmission is designed for easy, powerful use. Transmission has the features you want from a BitTorrent client: encryption, a web interface, peer exchange, magnet links, DHT, ĀµTP, UPnP and NAT-PMP port forwarding, webseed support, watch directories, tracker editing, global and per-torrent speed limits, and more. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install Transmission on your Synology NAS using Docker.

STEP 2
Install Container Manager via Synology āPackage Centerā. If you run an older DSM version (under 7.2), search for Docker instead of Container Manager.
STEP 3
Go toĀ File Station and open the docker folder. Inside the docker folder, create one new folder and name it transmission. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Note: Be careful to enter only lowercase, not uppercase letters.
STEP 4
Now createĀ three new folders inside theĀ transmissionĀ folder that you created atĀ STEP 3 and name them data,Ā downloads,Ā watch. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 5
Go to Control Panel / Task Scheduler / Create / Scheduled Task / User-defined script. Follow the instructions in the images below.
STEP 6
Once you click on User-defined script a new window will open. Follow the instructions below:
- General: In the Task field type in Install Transmission. Uncheck āEnabledā option. SelectĀ rootĀ User.
- Schedule: SelectĀ Run on the following dateĀ then select āDo not repeatā.
- Task Settings: Check āSend run details by emailā, add your email then copy paste the code below in the Run command area. After that clickĀ OK.

Note: Before you paste the code above in the Run command area below, change the value numbers for PUIDĀ andĀ PGIDĀ with your own values. (Follow my step by step guide on how to do this.)

STEP 7
After you click OK on STEP 6 a new warning pop up window will open. Click OK.
After you click OK, type in your DSM Password then click Submit. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 8
After you click Submit on STEP 7, select your āInstall Transmissionā Task then click the āRunā tab. You will be asked to run Install Transmission ā click OK. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 9
Go back toĀ STEP 1Ā or you will deal with karma š
STEP 10
The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser andĀ type in http://Synology-ip-address:9091 you will be prompted to add the username and password you have chosen at STEP 6. Click Sign in. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 11
Port forward port 51413 in your router pointing to your NAS. Follow the instructions in the image below.
