Calibre is a cross-platform open-source suite of e-book software by Kovid Goyal. Calibre supports organizing existing e-books into virtual libraries, displaying, editing, creating and converting e-books, as well as syncing e-books with a variety of e-readers. Editing books is supported for EPUB and AZW3 formats. In short, Calibre is a powerful and easy to use e-book manager. Users say it’s outstanding and a must-have. It’ll allow you to do nearly everything and it takes things a step beyond normal e-book software. It’s also completely free and open source, and great for both casual users and computer experts. Komga is a free and open source comics/mangas server. You can easily browse libraries, series and books via a responsive web UI that works on desktops, tablets and phones. Komga supports the following file types: Comic book archives: CBZ and CBR (except RAR5 and solid archives) – Comic books in EPUB format – PDF files. Note: Install Komga on Your Synology NAS.
Kavita is a fast, feature rich, cross platform reading server. Built with a focus for manga, and the goal of being a full solution for all your reading needs. Set up your own server and share your reading collection with your friends and family! Serve up Manga/Webtoons/Comics (cbr, cbz, zip/rar, 7zip, raw images) and Books (epub, pdf) with Kavita. Bookstack is a free and open source Wiki designed for creating beautiful documentation. Featuring a simple, but powerful WYSIWYG editor, it allows for teams to create detailed and useful documentation with ease. Bookstack is a great alternative to DokuWiki that can be used for storing and organizing information and documentation. Note: Install BookStack on Your Synology NAS.
Audiobookshelf is a self-hosted audiobook server for managing and playing your audiobooks. It’s fully open-source, including the android & iOS app, currently in beta. You can stream all audiobook formats on the fly. Audiobookshelf has multi-user support and custom permissions. You can easily upload all the audiobooks from your computer to your Synology NAS.
