How to Install Reframe on Your Synology NAS

How to Install Reframe on Your Synology NAS

Reframe is a self-hosted web application that serves as a complete video toolkit for cropping, formatting, and enhancing videos for social media. It lets you easily convert horizontal (16:9) footage into vertical (9:16), square (1:1), or custom aspect ratios with an intuitive browser-based editor. Built with FastAPI, Vue 3, and FFmpeg (with GPU support), it runs entirely locally via Docker ensuring your media files never leave your NAS. Additional features include batch processing, auto-generated TikTok-style subtitles via Whisper AI, text/logo overlays, trimming, custom fonts, preset management, and a media library with transcripts. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install ReframeĀ on your Synology NAS using Docker and Portainer.

šŸ’”Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest Reframe v1.3.1Ā release.
