How to Install Mitra on Your Synology NAS

How to Install Mitra on Your Synology NAS

Mitra is a self-hosted calendar that puts events and tasks on a single timeline so you can see when there is actually room to get things done. It runs as a single Docker container with its own database, stores calendars locally if you prefer, and syncs bidirectionally with CalDAV, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Notion, Todoist, and Tempo. Multiple views (week, month, year, timeline, and table) support drag-and-drop creation, moving, and resizing of entries, while a Planning tab holds undated tasks with due dates and estimates that you can drag into free slots. Further capabilities include availability shading, subtasks and dependencies, file attachments, push notifications, guest lists, a command palette, AI connectors over the Model Context Protocol for tools such as Claude and Cursor, multi-language support (including right-to-left), light/dark themes, and optional multi-user sign-in via OpenID Connect. No telemetry. I’ve been running Mitra on my home server for the past few months and it is the only planning tool I actually stick with. Because events and tasks share one timeline I finally stopped switching between a calendar and a separate to-do list, and dragging tasks from the Planning tab straight into free time in the week view makes scheduling feel natural rather than forced. I use it mainly for the privacy and flexibility it gives me: everything stays on my NAS. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install MitraĀ on your Synology NAS using Docker & Dockhand.

šŸ’”Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest Mitra v0.7.1Ā release.
