How to Install openGym on Your Synology NAS

How to Install openGym on Your Synology NAS

openGym is a free, open-source gym and body-weight tracker that lets you plan weekly routines, run guided workouts with animated demos from a large exercise library, log every set, and monitor body weight plus muscle progress through maps for balance, fatigue, and strength. It keeps all your data under your control with no subscriptions, ads, or telemetry, and works either as a standalone mobile app or as a self-hosted service you run yourself with Docker for syncing across devices via passkey login. After switching from commercial trackers, openGym has been a clear improvement for me. Owning the complete workout history without upsells or data sharing feels liberating, the guided sessions and muscle map make consistency and balanced training straightforward, and the option to self-host means my logs stay private even when syncing between phone and computer. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install openGymĀ on your Synology NAS using Docker & Dockhand.

šŸ’”Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest openGym v1.4.4Ā release.

🟢Please Support My work by Making a Donation. Almost 99,9% of the people that install something using my guidesĀ forget to support my work, or justĀ ignoreĀ STEP 1. I’ve been very honest about this aspect of my work since the beginning: I don’t run any ADS, I don’t require subscriptions, paid or otherwise, I don’t collect IPs, emails, and I don’t have any referral links from Amazon or other merchants. I also don’t have any POP-UPs or COOKIES. I have repeatedly been told over the years how much I have contributed to the community. It’s something I love doing and have been honest about my passion since the beginning. But I also Need The Community to Support me Back to be able to continue doing this work.
