Synology: Portainer Docker Version 2.45.0

Synology Portainer Docker Version 2.45.0

On August 27, 2026, the Portainer team quietly but confidently moved the stable Long Term Support (LTS) line forward, switching from version 2.39.6 to the new 2.45.0 LTS release. For those of us who live and breathe container orchestration, whether weโ€™re managing a handful of Docker hosts at home or running production Kubernetes clusters, this is one of those updates that feels both practical and reassuring. Portainer has always walked a careful line between shipping useful new capabilities and keeping the foundation rock-solid for people who simply need things to work. Version 2.45.0 continues that tradition. It consolidates the improvements that landed across the preceding Short Term Support (STS) releases, polishes them, and subjects everything to the more rigorous testing that defines an LTS cut. The result is a release designed for environments where stability matters more than chasing the absolute newest feature every few weeks.

Iโ€™m particularly happy to call out one specific resolution: the long-standing issue around unhealthy stacks (GitHub issue #13075). The problem was that when a stack went into an unhealthy state and you tried to correct the Compose definition, Portainer would sometimes treat the already-created containers as a conflict rather than allowing a clean recovery path. It was one of those subtle, frustrating edge cases that only showed up once you were already in a slightly messy situation. That bug has finally been put to rest in this LTS release.

What is Portainer? Portainer is a really awesome web UI for Docker. Portainer is a lightweight management UI which allows you to easily manage your different Docker environments (Docker hosts or Swarm clusters). Portainer is meant to be as simple to deploy as it is to use thanks to its user-friendly interface.
