On October 8, 2026, the Portainer team released the second maintenance update to the current Long Term Support line, moving from 2.45.1 LTS to 2.45.2 LTS. This is a classic LTS patch release: focused on security hardening, dependency updates, and small stability improvements rather than big new features. For anyone running Portainer on a Synology NAS or UGREEN NAS (or any other Docker host), it is a straightforward and recommended update. This release fixes a bypass of the “Hide bind mounts for non-administrators” setting. When it is enabled, Compose files deployed by non-administrators can no longer reference host files outside the stack directory (for example in configs, secrets or env_file), and include is disabled for them. Also this new version fixes the issue where the Docker dashboard volume count excludes volumes that restricted users have access to.
What is Portainer? Portainer is a really awesome web UI for Docker. Portainer is a lightweight management UI which allows you to easily manage your different Docker environments (Docker hosts or Swarm clusters). Portainer is meant to be as simple to deploy as it is to use thanks to its user-friendly interface.
