Today, after many, many emails asking me how to set up email Notifications on Uptime Kuma, I have finally come about to writing an article on how to set up Gmail Notifications on Uptime Kuma so you can get notified via email whenever your website goes offline. See the details below.

STEP 2
Install Uptime Kuma using my Docker Guide. If you already have Uptime Kuma installed on your Synology NAS, skip this STEP.
STEP 3
Follow my step by step guide on how to activate SMTP for your Gmail account.
STEP 4
Open your Uptime Kuma instance. At the top right of the page click on your profile, then Settings. After you click Settings, a new sidebar will appear on the left. Click Notifications then Setup Notification. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 5
Select Email (SMTP) from the list. Follow the instructions in the image below.
STEP 6
Add the details below, then click Test and Save. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Friendly Name: Type in a Friendly name.
Mail address: Type in your own Gmail address.
Hostname: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Username: Type in your own Gmail address.
Password: Type in your own Gmail App Password / STEP 3.
From Email: Type in your own Gmail address.
To Email: Type in your own Gmail address.
Once you click Save you are done! Click Test to send a test email. Enjoy your Uptime Kuma Notifications via Email!
