Just a few more days and summer will have flown by and we’ll be welcoming fall’s much awaited cool early mornings and evenings. In what feels like the height of summer still, temperature-wise, I’ve been working on a few new projects, one of which I’m excited to share with you today. Those of you who have been following me for a while now may know that, over the past year, I have installed several Reolink video surveillance cameras to increase my home security. Just a few days ago I added two additional Surveillance Station licenses on my Synology DVA3221 NVR to be used for my new ColorX 4K 8MP PoE IP camera from Reolink.
Because of its spectacular performance in low light and true full-color night vision, this video surveillance camera model from Reolink has become extremely sought-after.
Its powerful technology allows it to see in the darkest darkness, making the landscape seemingly bright in scarcity of light.
What is in the Reolink CX810 Box?
In the camera box youāll find a LAN cable, an instructions booklet, insulation grommets, a sponge and some wall mount screws. And, of course, the camera itself.
Quality Materials
When you hold a Reolink CX810 in your hand, you quickly realize that you are dealing with a well-built product whose quality in the choice of materials and sturdiness stand out. Similar to the Reolink CX410 model, the CX810 is reliably built with quality materials.
Simple and Minimalist Design Choice For the CX810
The design of the Reolink CX810 camera is minimalist. The camera is well-built and robust, with a simple modern design of an understated elegance. The elegant simplicity of the design as a hallmark of Reolink cameras can also be seen in the CX410 model.
Built-in Microphone & Speaker
With the help of the built-in microphone and speaker, you can talk through your Reolink camera when you are away using the Reolink app on your phone.
Advanced H.265 Video Format
More efficient than the older H.264 compression, H.265 minimizes file size, conserves bandwidth, and requires less storage space. The advanced H.265 video format allows you to enjoy smoother viewing without the hassle.
Viewing Experience Redefined with Seamless 4K
Immerse yourself in unparalleled visual clarity with 4K ultra-high definition. From stunning landscapes to fine details, every frame is delivered with exceptional vividness, ensuring that no detail goes unnoticed.
Simple Assembly & High Resistance to Corrosion
Whether your house is made of wood or concrete, it doesn’t matter. The CX810 ColorX can be installed on both a wooden surface and a concrete surface.
Power over Ethernet Technology and Easy Setup
You can power up this Reolink CX810 camera with only one network cable. Thanks to the advanced Power over Ethernet technology, a single cable manages both data and a stable power supply, eliminating the need for multiple wires. Setting up this camera is effortless, even for beginners with little to no experience in video surveillance systems setup.
microSD Card Support
The Reolink CX810 PoE supports local microSD card storage, with up to 256GB microSD card (sold separately). Safe and convenient.
- 24.2 hours 64GB microSD Card
- 48.5 hours 128GB microSD Card
- 97.1 hours 256GB microSD Card
Easy Rotation
You can easily rotate the camera per your requirements. You can move it up and down, left or right. Orient it according to your preference when setting up to optimize the line of view from the setup location to the point of interest.
Mounting the CX810 Camera
I’ve installed the camera on the massive wood pillars underneath the roofing, and used special screws for wood to keep it in place. Its installation was simple, and it only took a few minutes. The CX810 has a rounded shape and a durable, quality, aluminum case with a beautiful white paint on top to boost resistance to corrosion. The metal case is IP66 rated which means the camera is protected from the ingress of dust and will survive strong jets of water so you can install it outdoors as well.
