Do you know how long it takes to restart your RT2600ac Synology router? Today, driven by curiosity, I used a stopwatch to measure the time it takes for my RT2600ac router to restart. It was 3 minutes and 22 seconds before the LEDs turned green and the SRM operating system booted up and became operative. There are currently 3 Mesh MR2200ac connected to my RT2600ac router via Wi-Fi.
I noticed that by removing the USB key I can recover approximately 45 seconds, going from a restart time of 3 minutes and 22 seconds to 2 minutes and 39 seconds. The reboot is not very quick compared to other routers, but we are talking here about an extremely advanced operating system (SRM) that safeguards our Internet security in a professional way.
The Synology RT2600ac has great range and Wi-Fi performance. It has a small number of applications in its Package Center to enhance features, and it covers everything from parental control and threat prevention to downloading files, acting like a mini NAS, a DNS server, and a VPN server. The more packages are installed, the longer the restart time.
