When I first bought my Synology NAS DS718+, I never expected to “overtake” Google using the “PageSpeed Insights” tool. This is proof that a home NAS is capable of competing even with the most modern hosting services in terms of speed and reliability. Obviously, these results don’t mean much because I don’t have servers all over the world and data can vary from server to server, but for me, a small and insignificant grain of sand in the universe, with a small blog, this is a great satisfaction.
It took commitment and dedication to make this blog fast, and using various techniques. To reach this result, I had many sleepless nights and ate mostly junk food for months. So if your question is the following: Can a Synology NAS completely replace paid hosting? The answer is yes. Below are the results of my tests. You are all free to replicate them using the PageSpeed Insights Tool.
Google vs mariushosting PageSpeed Insights results on “Mobile”.
Google vs mariushosting PageSpeed Insights results on “Desktop”.
