How to Install Node-RED on Your UGREEN NAS

How to Install Node-RED on Your UGREEN NAS

Node-RED is a flow-based development tool for visual programming developed originally by IBM for wiring together hardware devices, APIs and online services as part of the Internet of Things. Node-RED provides a web browser-based flow editor, which can be used to create JavaScript functions. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install Node-REDĀ on your UGREEN NAS using Docker & Portainer.

šŸ’”Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest Node-RED 4.1.1 release.

šŸ’”Note: Check out my guide on how to Install Node-RED on Your Synology NAS.

🟢Please Support My work by Making a Donation. Almost 99,9% of the people that install something using my guidesĀ forget to support my work, or justĀ ignoreĀ STEP 1. I’ve been very honest about this aspect of my work since the beginning: I don’t run any ADS, I don’t require subscriptions, paid or otherwise, I don’t collect IPs, emails, and I don’t have any referral links from Amazon or other merchants. I also don’t have any POP-UPs or COOKIES. I have repeatedly been told over the years how much I have contributed to the community. It’s something I love doing and have been honest about my passion since the beginning. But I also Need The Community to Support me Back to be able to continue doing this work.

  • STEP 11

The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser andĀ type in http://ugreen-ip-address:6336Ā Follow the instructions in the image below.

šŸ†˜TROUBLESHOOTING

Note: If you want to protect your Node-RED installation with a Username and Password, check out the official documentation on how to do it. You will need to modify the settings.js file that you will find in your volume1/docker/node-red folder. To open the settings.js file and start modifying it, you need the TextEdit app installed on your UGREEN NAS as per the instructions at STEP 4. Once you have modified the settings.js file, remember to restart the Node-RED container.
Note: If you want to run the Node-RED container over HTTPS, check out How to Run Docker Containers Over HTTPS on Your UGREEN NAS.
