Pan and zoom effortlessly across decades of milestones, from weekly moments to major life chapters, while adding rich events with dates, notes, photos, audio, video, and recurrence. All data stays completely local on your device, with no accounts, no servers, and no tracking. Search your timeline, view life statistics, import .ics calendars, and export high-resolution PNGs or JSON backups. It’s fully offline, open source, and built for reflection and goal planning. Your life, at a glance. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install LifeGLANCE on your UGREEN NAS using Docker and Portainer.

💡Note: This guide works perfectly with the latest LifeGLANCE v1.5.3 release.

• STEP 1

• STEP 2

Install Portainer using my step by step guide. If you already have Portainer installed on your UGREEN NAS, skip this STEP. Attention: Make sure you have installed the latest Portainer version.

• STEP 3

Log into Portainer using your username and password. On the left sidebar in Portainer, click on Home then Live connect. Follow the instructions in the image below.

On the left sidebar in Portainer, click on Stacks then + Add stack. Follow the instructions in the image below.

• STEP 4

In the Name field type in lifeglance. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Note: Copy Paste the code below in the Portainer Stacks Web editor.

• STEP 5

Scroll down on the page until you see a button named Deploy the stack. Click on it. Follow the instructions in the image below. The installation process can take up to a few minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection.

If everything goes right, you will see the following message at the top right of your screen: “Success Stack successfully deployed“.

The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser and type in http://ugreen-ip-address:6868 Click Begin. Follow the instructions in the image below.

• STEP 9

Add your happiest past event. Click place it on my timeline. Follow the instructions in the image below.

• STEP 10

Add your future event. Click place it on my timeline. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Click Open my timeline. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Your life events in a timeline at a glance! At the top right of the page, click Settings. Follow the instructions in the image below.

• STEP 13

Click save backup to back up your current data. All your data lives in your browser’s IndexedDB storage, so removing or upgrading the container has no effect on it. The only way data is lost is if you clear your browser’s site data or switch to a different browser/device. That’s why the JSON export feature exists; it’s worth keeping a regular backup.
