
Anchor is a fast, offline-first, self-hostable note-taking app focused on privacy and simplicity. Notes stay local on your device or server, work fully offline, and sync automatically when online. It offers rich text editing, tags, custom backgrounds, pinning, archiving, instant search, trash recovery, dark mode, and easy Docker self-hosting. In this step by step guide I will show you how to install AnchorĀ on yourĀ UGREEN NAS using Docker and Portainer.
STEP 1

STEP 2
InstallĀ Portainer using my step by step guide. If you already have Portainer installed on your UGREEN NAS, skip this STEP. Attention: Make sure you have installed the latest Portainer version.
STEP 3
Go toĀ FilesĀ and open the docker folder. Inside the docker folder, create one new folder and name itĀ anchor. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Note: Be careful to enter only lowercase, not uppercase letters.

STEP 4
ā ļøMandatory: Add Read & Write Permissions to the Docker Folder.
STEP 5
Log into Portainer using your username and password. On the left sidebar in Portainer, click onĀ HomeĀ thenĀ Live connect. Follow the instructions in the image below.

On the left sidebar in Portainer, click on StacksĀ thenĀ + Add stack. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 6
In the Name field type in anchor. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 7
Scroll down on the page until you see a button namedĀ Deploy the stack. Click on it. Follow the instructions in the image below. The installation process can take up to a few minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection.

STEP 8
If everything goes right, you will see the following message at the top right of your screen: āSuccess Stack successfully deployedā.

STEP 10
The installation process can take up to a few seconds/minutes. It will depend on your Internet speed connection. Now open your browser and type inĀ http://ugreen-ip-address:2997/registerĀ If everything goes right, you will see the Anchor registration page. Type in your own details, then click Create Account. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 11
Click + Create Your First Note. Follow the instructions in the image below.

STEP 12
Switch the theme to Dark, choose your Favorite Background Theme, add your Note. Follow the instructions in the image below.
