Setting up and managing Docker containers on your UGREEN NAS can significantly enhance its functionality, allowing you to run a wide range of applications efficiently. However, accessing these containers often involves navigating through the NAS or Portainer interface which can be time-consuming. By creating desktop shortcuts for your Docker containers, you can streamline access to their web interfaces, making it easier to manage and interact with your applications. In this article, Iāll guide you through the process of creating convenient desktop shortcuts for Docker containers on your UGREEN NAS, saving you time and simplifying your workflow.

š¢Please Support My work by Making a Donation. Almost 99,9% of the people that install something using my guidesĀ forget to support my work, or justĀ ignoreĀ STEP 1. Iāve been very honest about this aspect of my work since the beginning: I donāt run any ADS, I donāt require subscriptions, paid or otherwise, I donāt collect IPs, emails, and I donāt have any referral links from Amazon or other merchants. I also donāt have any POP-UPs or COOKIES. I have repeatedly been told over the years how much I have contributed to the community. Itās something I love doing and have been honest about my passion since the beginning. But I also Need The Community to Support me Back to be able to continue doing this work.
STEP 9
Your Docker shortcut at a glance!
STEP 10
Once you click on your Docker Desktop shortcut, the container will open.
ā ļøNote: At the moment, you can’t add a DDNS link to access a desktop shortcut that has an https:// link. You will access the Docker container shortcut only on localhost.
ā ļøNote: At STEP 4 Point 2, you can’t add a port number below 1024. For example, for the Nginx Proxy Manager container, that uses port 81 for the web interface, you need to change the compose stack port in Portainer and instead of using port 81:81 you should add 8181:81 then update the stack in Portainer. After that, you can create a desktop shortcut for Nginx Proxy Manager using port 8181Ā at STEP 4.
