If you have thought about buying a Synology NAS, you should know that any model you may choose will not have support for the HDMI output port. Many may disagree with Synology’s choice not to add an HDMI output port, but it is entirely understandable. I can only assume that Synology feels that their device is to be utilized as a server device and not as a client device.
Although I have used my Synology NAS for various purposes, I can say that I have never missed the HDMI output port. If you need the HDMI output port for your project, you can buy other brands such as QNAP because QNAP offers the HDMI output port. But is the game worth the candle? In my opinion, QNAP’s operating system is not comparable to Synology NAS’s DSM operating system.
