On July 2, 2025, Synology updated their Docker package, aka the Container Manager package, from version 24.0.2-1535 to the new 24.0.2-1543 version. Do you remember my post dated August 29, 2024 in which I pointed out that Docker daemon 24.0.2 was in EOL as of June 8, 2024? With this mini update for Container Manager, I really feel that Synology DSM 8 is just around the corner.
Compatibility & Installation
This version requires DSM 7.2.1 and above.
What’s New in version 24.0.2-1543
- Supports using the “docker compose” command in the command line interface (CLI).
- Supports customizing subnet settings for Container Manager.
Fixed Issues in version 24.0.2-1543
- Fixed an issue where an unexpected error message might show up during project restart, cleanup, or image creation.
- Fixed an issue where duplicating a container with TCP/UDP port settings might fail.
- Fixed an issue where Container Manager version 20.10.23-1437 or earlier might not run properly if manually installed.
- Fixed an issue where moving a shared folder might not release the storage space at its original location.
🚀Can I install this package on my Synology NAS? Sure, you can, and I encourage you to do that. I didn’t experience any issues with the new Container Manager 24.0.2-1535 package, and all containers are running perfectly without issue.
