UGREEN officially made the DXP6800 and DXP8800 Ultra NAS available to the general public. The models went on sale through the official UGREEN store and Amazon at the following prices.

  • DXP6800 Ultra: $1,449.99 or 1.248,01 Euro
  • DXP8800 Ultra: $1,779.99 or 1.532,04 Euro

I personally say the iDX6011 Pro is better: A lot of people ask me “Hey, Marius, why do you keep recommending the UGREEN NAS iDX6011 Pro over the newer DXP6800 Ultra and DXP8800 Ultra?” The answer is simple: I don’t want a NAS just for how many drives it can hold. I want a NAS for what it can actually do over time especially for Docker and CPU Power.

  • iDX6011 Pro: Intel Core Ultra 7 255H (16 cores / 16 threads, dedicated NPU, ~96 TOPS of AI performance)
  • DXP8800 Ultra: Intel Core 7 150U (10 cores / 12 threads)
  • DXP6800 Ultra: Intel Core 5 120U (10 cores / 12 threads)

The multi-core performance difference is massive. I’m not talking about a 10-15% improvement. I’m talking about a different generation of CPU that is far more capable when it comes to Docker, virtual machines, simultaneous services, transcoding, and real-world workloads. A modern NAS is no longer just a place to store files. It needs to run things. And this is where the iDX6011 Pro wins clearly.

The iDX6011 Pro comes with 64 GB of LPDDR5X soldered in.

The DXP6800 Ultra and DXP8800 Ultra models start with only 8 GB (even though they can be expanded up to 96 GB).
In daily use this matters a lot:

With 64 GB already installed you’re ready for heavy workloads immediately. You don’t need to spend extra money on RAM modules right away. The memory is faster and better suited for AI and multitasking. Many people underestimate how important RAM is on a modern NAS. I don’t. I prefer having more power and more RAM on 6 bays rather than 8 bays with a weaker processor and only 8 GB of RAM to start with.
